The activities in Noirmoutier
What to do in Noirmoutier near the hotel Saint Paul?
On the Atlantic seaboard, the island of Noirmoutier is unique. A flat land of 49 km2 and 25 km in length, it has maintained a link with the mainland, both via its famous Gois passage, and for over 50 years, the bridge. Its population and economy are diverse, with salt manufacturers, fishermen, oyster farmers, farmers and vacationers!
The Hotel Saint Paul is located in the heart of the Bois de la Chaize, at a 10-minute walk from the famous Plage des Dames, as well as from Plage des Souzeaux and Anse Rouge.
Take your bike or walk to the town of Noirmoutier en l’île, with its historic center, the Jacobsen pier (former towpath), the Müllenbourg marsh and its nature reserve (don’t forget your binoculars!).
You will then meet the salt manufacturers and take a walk through the salt marshes a little further on. Your adventure on the island continues via l’Epine, la Guérinière, and Barbâtre, heading north to the port of l’Herbaudière (a fishing port and fish market), or south to the Gois (a submersible road accessible only during low tide).
The hotel Saint-Paul is collaborating with the tourist office of Noirmoutier which will welcome you and suggest a lot of activities, such as:
- A visit in a little train (which goes past the hotel Saint-Paul)
- A visit of the castle and the Jacobsen museum, with a wealth of old and historical maps of the island,
- Leisure activities with your family: such as shellfishes shore fishing, swimming pool, the Butterfly Island…
- Exhibitions, events and festivities
